Mr. Segman will show a photographic record of his career as a journalist and government author covering events around the world.

Biography:

Rafe Segman is a retired journalist who covered many 20th century advances in technology. His writing for the U.S. Information Agency on the Mercury/Gemini/Apollo programs were carried in major newspapers and magazines world wide. His camera followed him in all his adventures, creating a photographic record of major events. Serving in USIA's Calcutta Mission, he wrote and photographed feature stories and lectured in-country on American Science. During a stay in Antarctica he authored a book-length series on American Research, complete with photos. He authored "National Oceanographic Program's annual report for the Office of the President and served (and photographed) as Public Information Office chief of the NOAA Administration's research laboratories. He served as managing editor of Technology Review and as the news editor of Science News. He is the author of several books, complete with photographs. He is most interested in the photograph as Art.
